If a person wanted to get 2 U exhaust pipes cut in half (at the mid point of the U) and then welded with the 2 parts of the U at 90 degrees; where would be the best(cheapest) place to have this accomplished? I just want to bring the pipe somewhere describe what I want cut/welded and then go home and handle installation with clamps(I’m going to get it welded once I know I like it and figure out if 1/4 resonance tubes will fit) .

Exhaust shop? Machine shop? Random person on Craigslist? Wife’s cousin who can weld but lives 1/2 way across country? What should cutting and welding these two pipes cost?

Side note: the same thing could be accomplished with 2 90 degree elbows but I imagine it in my mind being easier with a U

I’ve got a really great local exhaust shop I use whom I’d bring it to (Shout out to Muffler Man in Burnaby) but if you have trouble finding one there will likely be local welding shops/indy’s that can sort you out.

Barring that, my brother in law is an accomplished welder, so I can just hand stuff off to him when necessary. They’re not setup for vehicles though, unfortunately. Course, that doesn't help you much.
